1. Drink Your Water
Drink 2 to 4 quarts of water every day. Keep a quart-sized bottle of water with you throughout the day to encourage yourself to drink.
Most Americans are dehydrated. By drinking lots of water, you superhydrate the body, flushing out toxins that build up in the tissues when you are dehydrated.
2. Take Your Vitamins
The diets of most Americans are lacking in many essential vitamins and minerals. These supplements not only help alkalize the body, they also provide needed nutrients:
- O2 the Max - This product helps alkalize and oxygenate the tissues. Add 15 to 20 drops to your water bottle every time you fill it up.
- Bio-Greens - This powder, mixed water, is an excellent nutritional supplement with alkalizing properties.
Shake or mix 1 rounded tablespoon of Bio-Greens powder per day into water. We recommend taking 1 scoop in the morning. You can consider using:
Soy, rice, or other non-dairy "milks" instead of water. However, water is best when you have health challenges.
A few drops of stevia (herbal sweetener).
3. Cleanse Your Body
Even healthy bodies can eventually build up toxins, parasites, and other unwelcome residues in the tissues. These products help dislodge toxins and flush out the body
4. Eat Your Vegetables
Even if all you do is drink a lot of water and take Bio-Greens, your body benefits. But much of the acid in your body comes from the foods you eat: foods with high sugar content, soda pop, coffee, alcohol, fried food, processed food, meat, dairy (yes, even dairy!), and eggs all create acid in the body.
Most people don't change their diet all at once. Gradually start reducing acid-causing foods and replace them with more alkalizing foods. As your body is alkalized and nourished, your hungers and cravings change. Trust us-we've done this ourselves.
Some excellent foods to get you started are:
- Raw or lightly cooked vegetables:
- fresh sprouts
- broccoli
- kale
- lettuce
- Low-sugar fruits:
- avocado
- tomato
- lemon and lime
- Protein sources:
- salmon and trout
- fresh tofu
- raw nuts and seeds
- leafy green vegetables (such as broccoli and kale)
- beans
This list barely scratches the surface. For an in-depth explanation of alkaline eating, delicious recipes, and beautiful pictures, we recommend Back to the House of Health, by Shelly Redford Young.
